Admission to the American Cooperative School is based upon the following criteria:

ACS has an open admission policy for students in KG3 and KG4 although all students are required to go through a screening process to determine if they are developmentally ready for school and meet other eligibility requirements.

Appropriate English language proficiency (as indicated on WIDA test results) is required for any student entering the American Cooperative School in grades first through twelve.

Bolivian Ministry of Education Requirements

New and Returning Students to Bolivia: All official school records (grades = transcripts or report cards) must be translated and stamped by the Bolivian Consulate or ‘apostilled’ in the country of their origin.

Transfer Students from Bolivian Schools: Students that are transferring from another school within Bolivia must submit a copy of their RUDE. If the student is transferring from a school that does not have a recognized August to May school calendar, they will be required to repeat a portion or the entire grade level.

ACS Calendar

It is important that you understand that ACS follows an American Calendar from (August to June) and has authorization from the Bolivian Ministry of Education to register students during the same time period.

ACS is only authorized to register students to the Bolivian Ministry of Education at the beginning of our school year, any students entering after September will not be enrolled in the Bolivian School system until the following school year.  This doesn’t mean that you will not be enrolled in our school and receive American Report cards.

Transfers from a  Bolivian School (February- November calendar)

If you are transferring from a Bolivian School your child has already been assigned a RUDE number, where we can track schooling history within the Bolivian School system. Students are placed in grade levels in accordance to grade level completion backed up by official report cards.

-If your child is transferring from a Bolivian school with a Bolivian school calendar your child will be repeating 6 months, due to a change of calendar.

Transfers from Bolivian Schools following an American Calendar:

-If your child is transferring from a Bolivian school with an American calendar (August- June) your child may continue in the same grade level, however, their previous school may register their students to the Bolivian Ministry of Education at a different time, which could cause your student to be enrolled one year below in the Bolivian Education System. Your child will receive their Bolivian Graduation diploma one year after graduating from ACS.

If you are transferring from abroad, you need to present apostilled or legalized report cards in order for us to register your children to the Bolivian Ministry of Education. Students are placed in grade levels in accordance to grade-level completion backed up by official report cards.

You must follow the following steps, in order to be eligible for the Bolivian Bachillerato. Once legalized copies are provided you will have to complete the following steps:

  1. Present the legalized copies to the Cancillería.
  2. Present the approved grades to the Ministry of Education for an equivalency process.
  3. Comply with any further requirements mandated by the Ministry of Education.
