Middle School Profile
The purpose of the middle school program is to help the student make a successful transition from elementary to high school, and to prepare the student for the high school course of study. An American Curriculum is taught and all classes are taught in English. All students will be placed in Spanish based on their Spanish proficiency. Students will have the opportunity to explore new ideas, strengthen and learn new academic skills, make lasting friendships and participate in student activities.
ACS is committed to creating the best possible learning environment and challenging each student to reach his or her potential. In return, we expect students to work hard and act appropriately and responsibly at all times, both on and off campus.
High School Profile
The main focus of the ACS High School is to prepare students for universities and colleges in the United States, South America and Europe. An American curriculum is taught in grades 9-12. Students may earn a Bolivian and American Diploma.
A.C.S offers Advanced Placement courses in Grades 10-12. The courses include Biology, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Physics, Calculus, English, History, Psychology, Human Geography,and Spanish. The class sizes range 15-25.
In addition to a rigorous academic program, students are encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities. ACS offers a range of sports and clubs for students to choose from. Varsity sports include soccer, volleyball, basketball and track.
ACS Calvert believes that developing the whole student through community service is essential to its educational mission. CSP’s provide students with opportunities to develop empathy, compassion, integrity, and respect for others through meaningful and regular service.
For grades 9-12 students, CSP hours are a graduation requirement: 20 hours per year = .25 credits per year.
